Earn your Floor Tech/Custodial Certification
Goodwill offers an 8-week training program in complete floor care, environmental services and general cleaning.
The floor technology industry is growing dramatically with opportunities for strong entry-level earnings. Our Floor Tech/Custodial program participants are trained in both contemporary and traditional techniques for stripping and waxing, buffing, tile and floor restoration, carpet extraction, upholstery cleaning, bonneting, infection control, safe handling and mixing of chemicals, and more.
In addition to these skills, our participants receive:
• Certification as a general custodian or floor technician
• Paid wages while training in community-based settings
• Classroom instruction in customer service, life skills, and job-readiness
• On-the-job training that gives employers a first-hand look at potential employees with advanced skills
• Uniforms provided by Goodwill
• Job placement assistance
Participants must be at least 18 years old and be able to stoop, kneel, reach for and handle objects, stand or walk (with our without accommodations) for up to 8 hours, and lift up to 50 pounds. You must also be able to complete tasks and easily move from one task to another. Applicants with criminal backgrounds are reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
